I'm spending this last day of 2009 in my studio getting ready for the new year. There is nothing better than sorting through piles of paper and snippets of collage material after a busy season here at Sushipot. If all goes well, a bit of much needed dusting may also occur. Wish me luck!
A couple weeks ago I came across these old sieves at Vintage Reinvented on Etsy. I could not resist their chippy charm and now I have the start of a collection. But as always the dilemma here at Sushipot is whether to keep or not to keep? Do I start a collection or use them in a new assemblage piece? If I could guess you'll probably see some new "sieve dolls" pop up in the shop at some point soon!
My first sieve doll created in the summer of 2007 now resides in Boulder, Colorado.
A new year is just around the corner and many new ideas are churning here at Sushipot. Patrick, Lizzie and I spent a quiet Christmas Eve putting a puzzle together, cutting out paper snowflakes, reading books and eating cookies and Thai food. We woke Christmas Day to our first white Christmas together--it was magical and we all agree it has been the best one yet!
