Nosedive, original collage on First Aid book cover with found heart doodle

Guess I've kinda been inundating you with all these new collage pieces. This is the last one for now. Maybe I'll get around to making more this weekend. Seems like time is so precious these days and heading into summer I find more and more of it needs to be spent outdoors flying kites 'n running in the sprinkler (or at least watching a little someone run through it).

Vintage Office Supplies

Vintage Office Supply Collection at Sushipot Vintage

One thing Patrick and I have always enjoyed is browsing through office supply stores together. We love looking at the latest gadgets 'n Post It note designs and never leave without something.

I think Lizzie is following us down that path 'cuz the other day we stopped in at our local Hobby Lobby and she asked if we could plu-EEeaze stop into Staples which is right next door. She wanted to see if there were any new Sharpie colors available (her drawing tool of choice at the moment).

When it comes to Vintage (with a capital V!) office supplies we have become slightly obsessive. For instance...Patrick cannot turn down a working, vintage mechanical pencil. He has a collection of over 200!

Anyhow...all this to say I've put together a fun collection of retro office 'n art supply goodies for the shop--I even got Patrick to donate a couple of his pencils! Many of these items, including the retro green file box, were thrifted from my all time favorite thrift shop, The Bargain Barrel. If you ever stop in tell Kelsey I sent you!

And...I leave you with an out-take from my vintage-office-supplies-organized-neatly photo shoot.

Worry, Worry

Worry, Worry Mug at Luola

Worry, Worry by Suzanna Scott

A simple mug with a big message inspired this latest treasury. After putting the list together I indulged myself by purchasing the Worry mug. It arrived yesterday so I drank my morning cuppa out of it today and I had a lovely, worry-free day. I can attest that its reverse psychology charms worked :)

Sewing Notions

Vintage Sewing Basket Full 'o Crafty Notions

I had planned to spend the weekend doing a bit of spring-y cleaning 'round my virtual shops and....I did! Both shops and this space have a new banner using snippets from 1950's newsprint (a fav of mine). The dust was swept out of the corners 'n off the shelves and I even spruced up my profile pages and re-addressed shop policies--all that nitty-gritty stuff that has been put on the back burner again and again. In addition to cleaning virtually, I did a bit of sorting and cleaning of inventory (including this sewing basket) for my newly re-named shop, Sushipot Vintage (it was time to cast off the old name of Sushipot Parts). AND...before I head off to bed for the night....a BIG thank you to everyone who came out to shop my pendant sale.

Mrs. Marsh

I think all mothers love to receive little notes from their kids. This gem was discovered inside an old coloring book I thrifted awhile back. Isn't it darling? I know that I'll be enjoying all the tokens of appreciation on this Mother's Day and the little notes will be tucked away for safe keeping in a special box kept just for that reason. Happy Mother's Day!

Hygenia Shorter

Hygenia Shorter, collage on found book page

"Ladies and Gentlemen...introducing the amazing Hygenia Shorter and her rabid (Pat's description, not mine) donkey". Yeah, I had a little bit 'o fun with this one. The page was taken from an elementary physiology & health textbook from the late 1800's. Apparently one of the courses that Miss Shorter was studying back in the day. I wonder how she ended up with the name Hygenia?

Jack In The Box

Jack In The Box, mixed media assemblage

As I was standing in line to pay for my thrifty finds at The Grand Ol' Trunk a couple of months ago I spotted a lone Indian club. A few weeks later I came across a silly vintage clown head (formerly a piggybank) at MonaCross and instantly knew it would make a perfect match for this comical Jack In The Box assemblage.

Fun & Games

Thrift score last week--a box full of old croquet paraphernalia. Perfect for clown assemblages I'm thinkin'!

Miss Lizzie has been helping lots 'round the shop. This week she's been putting together vintage puzzles for me to photograph. Notice we're patiently waiting for some front teeth!

Just a baggie full of game piece goodness--thought you'd like 'em too :)

Another bit of retro packaging from The Embossing Company.

See I told you Lizzie was keeping busy with puzzles! These will all be in the shop over the weekend. Most likely as an "instant collection". We shall see.

Dontcha hate it when you put together a puzzle and the last piece is MIA?

Wishing you a weekend full of fun and games (no missing pieces allowed!!).
