It's Christmas

Christmas Card by Whitman Publishing, 1951

Christmas preparations are in full swing at our home. Cookies have been baked, presents are slowly but surely being wrapped, last minute shopping excursions have been planned, the house is scrubbed 'n vacuumed, snow has fallen (yay!) and we've been wearing out the Swingin' Christmas station on Pandora

I've decided to give myself a luxurious little break and say ta-ta to this space until the New Year. So....thank you friends for taking time to stop in throughout 2012 and I look forward to seeing you here in 2013! Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas.

Etsy Vintage Toys

Speaking of vintage toys....there is a plethora of well-loved gems on Etsy. This afternoon I searched through my own shop favorites for the best ones I've discovered over the past months. Probably not time to get these before Christmas but ya never know. It doesn't hurt to ask!

As for me, I'm still shipping out Christmas goodies. The USPS postal shipping deadline for Priority Mail delivery on Xmas Eve is December 21st so here at Sushipot & Sushipot Vintage if you make a purchase by Friday morning (USA folks) I'll upgrade you to Priority Mail for no extra charge and ship the same day.

And...I want to say "Thank You" to each and everyone of you who sent Lizzie birthday messages via the blog and email. She has enjoyed these little notes and wants you to know she loves being eight years old :)

The Number Eight

I love how she loves the number eight because "it looks like a bow and infinity". She's so excited to be eight. Happy birthday Lizzie you told me last will be grrrrrrrreat to be eight!

The Toy Yearbook

Thought I'd pop in and share this mid century toy catalog with you today. It's chock full of eye candy for you vintage lovers :) Lizzie and I enjoy browsing these old catalogs and then try to find our favorite items over on Etsy Vintage. Kinda neat to see what's still in circulation, how its aged and its current value. This one is marked The Toy Yearbook, 1954-1955 and was distributed by Genbill Toy Stores of Massachusetts. Some of these gems have found there way into my hands at one point or another such as the Halsam Blocks and the loveable Changeable Charlie. What wonderful memories these treasures must bring back to those of you who grew up with them...lucky you! Don't forget to click on each image for an enlarged view. And if you haven't had enough take a peek at others from my collection: 1955 Noah's Ark Catalog and another 1950's Toy Catalog.
