Just so happens that Mary Jane loves to wear Mary Janes. Funny how that happens sometimes ;) Hope it's not too obvious I had a hard time coming up with a title for this one.

Tying Shoes

Big news...Lizzie learned to tie her own shoes this week! I think this new pair of pink Converse did the trick nicely. She had been wanting another pair just like these cuties, ever since she outgrew them a couple years ago. We did insist on them having laces and not velcro of course. Now we just need a few trips to the park this weekend to break them in!

Collection of Cast Iron Shoe Forms

I've been photographing a plethora of aged objects that I've collected over the past several years and have never "found" time to list them in the shop. Looking ahead two years into the future we'll be moving again and I know it will take months to purge my inventory. Here are a few of my favorites from the last photo session. Out With The Old

The phrase "out with the old, in with the new" is especially poignant as we turn the corner into a new year. Our family spent this quiet week between Christmas and the New Year purging old toys and clothing, sorting papers and receipts, rearranging furniture and in general organizing the belongings in our home. It feels good to have these physical preparations prepare us psychologically for a fresh start in the new year. I must admit that Lizzie's pink "star shoes" were especially hard to part with as so many memories from the past year are affixed to them. But on the other hand, she had outgrown them and is now the proud owner of a new pair of bright fuschia Converse. Bring on the New Year 'cuz we're ready folks!
