Collection Starters

One of my favorite pastimes is browsing Etsy's incredible vintage department for potential collection starters. Not that I really need to start another collection--it's just a fun way to kill time and find new objects I never knew existed. And, thanks to me, these virtual collections could become the start of your own collection!

Above: Just in time for Easter, a wonderful selection of egg cups for displaying your egg craft masterpieces. (ethanollie, 9.00 each)

I did say no more collections for me, but these old handles might not count. I can always use the excuse of purchasing them as "supplies" for my own work. A lot of my collections have started this way. (dkgeneralstore, $7.00)

These weather beaten croquet balls have stood the test of time. (TheVintageCabin, $32.00)

It's hard to resist these--you don't come across green dice every day. (DecadenceandDecay, $13.00)

Serious collectors are always looking for unique ways to display their collections. This set of apothecary bottles is just the ticket. (lacklusterco, $34.00)

Kitshy, cute and functional--a collector's dream trio. (VintagenReclaimed, $38.00)

So, if you find yourself with extra time on your hands this weekend, try searching for ready made collections on Etsy. You never know what you'll find!
