Flag By Ethel

Embroidered with care by Ethel, this hand stitched flag has been patiently waiting to fly free 'n proud here in this space. I think I love the tidy backside of this piece just as much as the front. Ethel was one meticulous lady. A happy & safe 4th of July to all you American readers!

Celebration Preparation

Big tents were popping up around town yesterday in the Little Apple. Everyone is ramping up for the Independence Day celebrations this weekend and fireworks go on sale today at noon. I took some pictures of the preparations underway coming home from the Farmer's Market yesterday.

Don't these festive sugar cookies look scrumptious? We have family coming to visit from Indiana and Kentucky over the long holiday weekend so I'll see you back here next week. Until then....wishing you beautiful weekend, a Happy Canada Day and a Happy July!
