Little Boy Blue
A sweet (and slightly creepy) reflection on the popular nursery rhyme Little Boy Blue. I finished up three assemblage pieces over the weekend. Sorry folks....they are already spoken for....lots of custom work these days.

Feather
Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
I've heard it in the chillest land
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

Blue For You

A windmill drive by, Kansas in June.

Just a nice blue window from the archives.

Cookie monster donuts at our favorite doughnut dive, Varsity Donuts.

Blue swings at a local park.
Some blue for you and Poppytalk's Summer Colors. Have a beautiful weekend :)

Clown Assemblages

Things have been super busy in the studio recently. I've just finished up a handful of custom pieces including these silly fellows. Looks like I'll be assembling clowns for a while yet.

Pops Of Color

New pops of color in the vintage shop this week including some old school tin clickers (great for that New Year's Eve party!) and another set of color cubes.

Are You Blue?

With all the rain we've had in the last 24 hours I was feelin' a bit blue...so what to do? Make a treasury of course! Isn't this antique lace amazing? I don't think I could ever remove its tattered blue paper backing though. Hoping to wake up to sunshine tomorrow 'cuz I've got new goodies to photograph. If you've got a minute go peek at the entire "Are You Blue?" treasury.

Weekend Plans
Well it's threatening to stay sunny and in the upper 40's all weekend so I'm gonna say "see ya later gators"! My big weekend plan is to find some lovely books at our local library sale on Saturday. Also on the agenda with Lizzie is the creation of a few Mardi Gras masks. I've downloaded this template over at Skip To My Lou. What are your weekend plans?

One Fall Walk
Finally....the leaves are starting to turn here in Kansas. Lizzie and I found the above evidence on one of our recent Fall walks. Our routine 1.1 mile jaunt around the neighborhood always produces new things to document.
A bird flying south for winter? There were so many soaring overhead but the snapshot only caught one.
The destination during this time of year are some large jack-o'-lantern yard ornaments in a cul-de-sac we pass. As long as I promise that we'll "visit the pumpkins" I have a very willing walking partner.
Our crossroads.
Once home we empty our pockets and document the treasures on the front stoop. Polly Pocket always claims the acorn tops for use as hats and bowls.

Sketchbook: Queen

Queen.
There is so much fun to be had when you're five years old and queen of the world. Need I say more? Have a beautiful weekend. See you in May!
