Winter Art Blocks

 

We had our first freeze a few nights ago here in Springfield, Missouri. Some of the neighborhood trees are already bare and the sound of leaf blowers has become the norm. Looks like winter is right around the corner! A dozen art blocks are ready be stocked in the shop today along with some ornaments.

Bozo-Taur Pull Toy

 

A foray into the anthropomorphic world of the clown/horse/centaur. I've officially dubbed him a Bozo-Taur. The assemblage is functioning as a pull toy but is not meant for rowdy play--only gentle interaction as it is an art object after all. 

Fair Weather

We did not venture out to the Riley County Fairgrounds on Friday or Saturday due to the extremely hot temperatures. So...last night we decided we'd better take a chance 'cuz of course we could not miss the carnival. We hadn't been there 25 minutes and a nasty thunderstorm rolled in towards the fairgrounds. A bit disappointing but it made for a great Instagram image.

Carousel Horse

This little guy was inspired by the many carousel rides we've enjoyed over the summer. He was also the cause of all these snippets. Enjoy!

New Assemblage & Collage

I spent the entire weekend in my studio (except for a couple trips to the pool). Several new pieces were added to the shop last night. All of these put this newsprint to good use. Enjoy!

Pile of Objects

Last night I was trying to plan out some new assemblage pieces. This is one of the piles of objects I gathered for the session. We'll see what happens with them. Sometimes things work out and sometimes they don't.
