Signs Of Fall

Lizzie and I gathered these first signs of Fall about our neighborhood this week. We've been enjoying crisper evenings and are busy planning all the soups 'n stews we will concoct this season. Happy first weekend of Autumn!

Dandelions

Yay for May! We've enjoyed many beautiful Spring days this past week and I'm in denial of tomorrow's forecast...2 inches of that cold, white stuff?? Maybe we'll head out and make dandelion chains in the snow. That would definitely be a first.

Smock de Meule by Mother

When dreary weather calls for inspiration it's time to make a treasury! The fabulous Yokoo opened her new shop, Mother, earlier this week so I had to include my latest object of desire--the Smock de Meule. I don't think I've ever considered wearing a smock before but now I have this insatiable urge to wear this one. If I owned it I think I might wear it every day...it would become my uniform of sorts. Let's just say I love Mother! Oh...and be sure to take a look at my entire treasury, Grey Garden.

Are You Blue?

With all the rain we've had in the last 24 hours I was feelin' a bit blue...so what to do? Make a treasury of course! Isn't this antique lace amazing? I don't think I could ever remove its tattered blue paper backing though. Hoping to wake up to sunshine tomorrow 'cuz I've got new goodies to photograph. Fair Weather

We did not venture out to the Riley County Fairgrounds on Friday or Saturday due to the extremely hot temperatures. So...last night we decided we'd better take a chance 'cuz of course we could not miss the carnival. We hadn't been there 25 minutes and a nasty thunderstorm rolled in towards the fairgrounds. A bit disappointing but it made for a great Instagram image.

Weekend Plans

Well it's threatening to stay sunny and in the upper 40's all weekend so I'm gonna say "see ya later gators"! My big weekend plan is to find some lovely books at our local library sale on Saturday. Also on the agenda with Lizzie is the creation of a few Mardi Gras masks. I've downloaded this template over at Skip To My Lou. What are your weekend plans?

Snow On Things

We woke up this morning to snow on everything! It's our first snow of the season and of the year ('bout time!). Two years ago you couldn't have made me venture outside to take pictures on a snowy morning but now that I have a blog I shocked Patrick by my announcement. Do you remember Lizzie's orange birdhouse? It's such a pop of color out our window. Happy Monday all!

December Frost

It seems like winter has finally arrived in Kansas. We woke up to this beautiful frost on the car windows and the temperature at a mere 14 degrees. Hope your Monday is going well.

My Outdoor Light Box

Looking down at my makeshift, outdoor light-box this morning I'm realizing that I'll need to start photographing indoors by a window soon. It was chilly and windy which is not a good combination when taking product photos. That cup of coffee was the only thing keeping my hands warm between shots! Yes, more holiday blocks are on the way into the shop.

What A Good Day Outside!

Yes indeed! We have been enjoying more pleasant weather this week. Hopefully it will stick around over this long holiday weekend. Wishing you and yours a good day outside wherever you are!

Summer Shadows

The lazy (and not so lazy) summer days have been flying by. We are in the midst of a unusually hot week with no end in sight. Needless to say we have been staying indoors except to venture to the post office. I've been sorting and purging photo files and found several images of summer shadows to share with you. Happy Summer

We were out and about on Saturday and stopped to enjoy this scenic view overlooking the Konza Prairie. Everything looked so lush as a thundershower had just past over the area. Wishing you a happy summer--today marks the summer solstice here in the Northern Hemisphere!

Rainy Day Painting

We've had many rainy days this week so it's been hard to get outside and play. Lizzie has spent several hours in the garage painting. Our favorite painting this week is of a robot riding her house-on-a-wagon down the train tracks with the volcano erupting in the background. Oh yes, and a rainbow-haired girl with her dolly. Blooms and Dirt

Everything is blooming around here and the gorgeous weather kept luring us outdoors this weekend.

Lots of time was spent "jumpin" and playing in the dirt.

We were also able to work in our first grill-out of the season.

Objects of Gray

The sky has been gray and the weather rainy for two looooong days. More rainy days are in the forecast so I found myself scouting around on Etsy for objects of gray to share with you today. Have I ever mentioned that I have a thing for buttons? This card of floral beauties is available at jawwadel, $12.00.

Yes, I realize it's white but the photo is grayish and I've had my eye on this voluptuous object for some time. One of the amazing finds at bluebellbazaar, $69.00.

Blue Sky & Sticks

We have been blessed with beautiful blue skies this week. The highs have actually reached the low 50's! I'm hesitant to share this as I know some of you are still in the throes of winter. Maybe this will offer some hope that spring is coming?

It's been hard to stay indoors so we've gone on a few walks.
