I came across another book on midwifery last month dating to the mid 1800's. The engravings were sparse but few it held are treasures indeed. I do believe this is the first doll house in the series to feature triplets. I love how two have hair and the third is bald. Also, the dismembered legs gave me pause so I dutifully bestowed her with a new pair.

Two doll houses coming to the shop today....both feature engravings from an 1888 book on obstetrics. Somehow the old sewing pattern tissue and the birth images work so well together.

Years ago I picked up a baggie of small wooden houses at a Catholic charity thrift shop in Mobile, Alabama. I had no idea they would spawn a series of four hundred Doll House pieces! Not sure how many more there will be....you can never know with these kinda things.

A trio of new Doll House pieces are ready to enter the world (shop!) today. Two of them are petite and nestle in the palm of your hand like a small talisman. I'll leave out any reference to uni-boobs here.

The two doll houses in progress last week are finished and will be posted in the shop today. One more engraving from a very old volume on obstetrics published in 1888. Its images are oh so exquisite....oh so bizarre....more to come on future pieces.
