French Dictionary Art Blocks

This exquisite selection of imagery was gleaned from a 1923 French dictionary. Each illustration was carefully decoupaged onto a wooden block and voilĂ --new art blocks are in the shop. Enjoy!

More French Plaques

A grouping of four more French historical figure plaques were posted in the shop this evening. From right to left: Josephine, Duc de Reichstadt, Jeanne De Bourbon and Duchesse D'Angouleme.

French Portrait Plaques

I finally decided to do something with these postcards and listed a pair of French portrait plaques in the shop last night. Jeanne D'Arc and Comtesse D'Artois are the first of these portraits but more are in the works. Have a beautiful weekend!

French Portrait Postcards

This collection of postcards portraying historical figures of France caught my eye while browsing Etsy vintage late at night a few weeks ago. It was an impulse purchase (confession time!) at Journey and Landscape but one that I do not regret in the least. They are lovely postcards--printed on rich, creamy, deckled paper--and I'm to torn on whether to make use of them in my work or save for a day when I can afford to frame up the group in its entirety.
