Johnnyville Blocks

Still can't believe I've happened upon this complete set of Johnnyville Blocks! The set was manufactured by the Embossing Company of Albany, NY circa 1930's. I posted a similar set of these by Halsam a while back although this set is older as Halsam purchased the Embossing Company in 1955. The box reads "A swell building set for children ages 4 to 8" but I'm thinkin' any age would have a swell time indeed.

Blockville Village

We've been building little villages with these charming Blockville blocks by Halsam. When it comes to photographing toys for the shop, Lizzie is always eager to help set things up. I think she kinda likes having this rotating source of new 'old' toys to play with!

More Building Blocks

More architectural building blocks in the vintage shop this morning. These are definitely more on the neutral side of the color spectrum than this set I blogged a few months ago. Finding these treasures makes me happy. Enjoy!

Acme Building Blocks

How about some architectural eye-candy this morning? This incredible set of building blocks was manufactured by Acme of Japan. Talk about color 'n detail! I'm especially loving the pops of hot pink and that front door is absolutely sweeeeet.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day weekend to all the fathers, papas, pops and daddy's out there! Lizzie and I are scheming up a whole day 'o fun for her Daddy but it's TOP SECRET so I can't reveal anything here. This picture was taken downtown in Kansas City, Missouri a few weeks ago. Of course I had to have a picture of the old sign so I hopped out of the car to snap a few. Some guy driving by honked 'n hollered and offered to be my Daddy. I told him I had more than I knew what to do with and quickly hopped back into the car with Patrick. But hey....I got my picture!

Building Blocks

I picked up these shabby, wooden building blocks at an antique shop in Indiana last weekend. They have seen some love from their past owner/s but I couldn't pass them up as I just adore the architectural details of little windows 'n doors and thought they would make a nice addition to the shop.
