Doll House no 396

Doll House no 396 (with viscera), mixed media assemblage

There will be two Doll House pieces coming to the shop this week. Watch for the other one tomorrow. In other news I've finished my Spring cleaning and have spent a fair amount of time daydreaming out my sparkling windows ;)

Prickly Plaques

Another transplant from this French volume on anatomy and dissection. I finished up six prickly plaques this week and have the numb fingers to show for it. Those cut tacks 'round the edge are not gentle folks! Soon as I finish editing photos the plaques will be in the shop.

Bone Study

A young student, Mr. Jas A. Russell of La Crosse, Wisconsin, penned these notes on the back pages of his physiology textbook in January of 1872. I love finding nuggets of information like this in the old books that have made their way onto my studio shelves.  One day his notes might find themselves in a collage but for now they'll remain in the ephemera files.

Doll House no 384

Doll House no 384 (with breech delivery)

The image on this Doll House was gleaned from an obstetrics volume published in 1889. The text is vintage Vogue sewing pattern tissue.

Doll House no 383

Doll House no 383 (with lachrymal apparatus of the eye)

It's been a while since I've posted any petite versions in the Doll House series. Finished up two of them yesterday. Another one to be posted soon....keep an eye out....hah!

Doll House no 380

Doll House no 380 (with anatomical heart), mixed media assemblage

Ahhhh....August....they say time flies when you're having fun ;) Thank you to all who came by the vintage shop during its closing week. I've been reorganizing 'round the studio as I won't be needing the space for all that inventory. And....first up for this month is an anatomical Doll House.

Yep...still time to get one of 'em for Valentines Day next week (within the USA)....just place your order by Friday morning, February 8th.

Doll House no 376

While I was editing the images of this fine lady in Photoshop tonight Lizzie walked in and saw the bladder enlarged on my computer screen. She promptly got a case of the giggles. If you like this doll house be sure to check back in tomorrow 'cuz her sister is waiting in the wings.

More Anatomy Plaques

The quickly dwindling selection of anatomical prickly plaques has been replenished in the shop. You can view the current selection here. Yes...there is still time to add one of these to your Halloween decor!

Prickly Ornaments

I've decided to bring back my Prickly Ornaments for the 2011 holiday season! This first selection is a bit on the darker side of things but never fear--I'll be offering some with classic Christmas imagery very soon. Thought I'd start with these for those of you who would enjoy them as Halloween decor too.

Anatomical Prickly Plaques

And...more anatomical prickly plaques are in the shop for the upcoming Halloween season. Isn't that the most bizarre image of a figure in a chair? It came from an 1895 home health book and is some sort of first aid illustration.
