Holidays At Sushipot

I've been tucking one or two (or three!) of these wee gift tags into every package that leaves Sushipot this season. They are printed on Moo MiniCards. I left the back blank so you can write your own message on 'em (a fine tip Sharpie works best).

My work table always looks like this during a session of ornament making. I'm adding a handful of the dangle ornaments in the shop today.

More jolly products from Moo....I've already run out of these jingle bell stickers but more going to arrive this afternoon. If you wanna give Moo a try you can use my referral code and get a lil' discount.

Jingle bells are everywhere in the studio. My little elf loves crafting with them too ;) Had to document 'em before removing them from their lovely retro packaging.

PS: Sushipot's Holiday Sale continues through Monday, December 8th.

Vintage Game Boxes

Been meaning to share this collection of vintage game boxes that I listed a couple weeks ago. They're currently en route to Istanbul, Turkey (I love the international community on Etsy!). My family played a lot of games when I growing up and now we play a lot of 'em with Lizzie. This past week she's been perfecting her Checker skills and almost beat me. One of these days she will.

Speaking Of Blocks

And...speaking of blocks....here are a couple more sets that I've added to the virtual shelves of the vintage shop this week. Never seen anything like either of these before which is always a plus in my book. Unique alphabet block sets for artists and/or collectors!

Vintage Puzzle Ornaments

Lizzie and I picked out this teal tinsel Christmas tree for the studio (cuz we're feelin' super festive 'round here!) and its turned out to be a useful photo prop too. These delightfully retro puzzle piece ornaments will be sprinkled into the vintage shop throughout the next few days. And...if you're wanting your own tinsel tree to decorate I bought it here but please don't tell Lizzie they have it in hot pink too!

1950's Grocery Blocks

I raided our stash of wood scraps and a pile of magazines from the 1950's to create these miscellaneous shaped grocery blocks. It was a fun project and they may be kinda hard to part with--you can take a closer peek at them here. Happy Friday!

1950's Newsprint

I purchased this June 7, 1953 issue of The Courier Journal Magazine from Myra Melinda and it arrived in the mail last week. The bright, bold graphics and generous use of color throughout the magazine make it ideal collage material. Before I start clipping it up I thought I'd share some of my favorite portions including some of the lovely 1950's summer fashions, a bizarre looking men's underwear advertisement and Saran plastic seat covers for the "discriminating motorist". Happy Monday!

Retro Blocks

Keep an eye out in the shop this afternoon for a selection of ephemera blocks featuring 1941 flash card images. Perfect for a kitchen shelf, these retro images include an old iron, fan and a bowl of grapes. Enjoy!
